the italian riviera
"Italy is a dream that keeps returning for the rest of your life."

Tony's Travel Tidbits
What do you do when you find a toy airplane ride in the middle of the Cinque Terre? You fly it! But, of course!
Italy has her own personality. Each city, town, and village has a unique voice. Much like who we are is made up of every person and experience whose path has crossed ours; her voice is comprised of her people, food and culture. Her art and her history. I have loved meeting her. Listening to her stories, seeing her beauty. And I'll hold her in my heart until we can return. By then we'll be old friends, and she'll welcome me with open arms, a glass of vino, and a plate of carbonara.

People of Italy
After hiking for nearly 2 hours, we came upon this man on the hillside making fresh squeezed orange juice and selling it to weary hikers for €2. It was delicious and worth every penny.
The most curious thing though, was the electrical cord from his juicer that seemed to come out of nowhere. This was a high, rocky path along the Ligurian Sea with no civilization in sight for miles, or so it seemed. Yet, here he was with his box of oranges, his electric juicer, and his quiet smile.
Carry on, amico, carry on.
Rick Steves promised us a "vacation from our vacation" to explore the glorious Cinque Terre. A Mediterranean getaway indeed!
